UK Government Quietly Braces for a Russian Assault

The British government is secretly preparing for a Russian attack and UK officials are fearing that the country is not ready to go to war.

Classified documents will show how Downing Street will respond should Russia start a war with the UK.

There are plans on how the Royal family will be protected, including the government in bunkers with stockpiled resources and public service broadcast in the event of war breaking out on British soil, The Telegraph reports.
MPs are also expressing their concerns that the British Armed Forces would not be able to cope with being at war inside Russia and in the UK.
Sir Keir Starmer is preparing for a direct military attack from Moscow after a request was made to update the 20-year contingency plans.

This comes as British troops are preparing to move into Ukraine and the Kremlin and the Russian Foreign Secretary Sergei Lavrov has warned this will be a direct escalation that will lead to war.
Downing Street’s plan is to prepare how to run a wartime government as Moscow is already “menacing” the UK’s “national security.”

The government has been told by General HR McMaster to start spending 4% of GDP on the British Armed Forces as it is “a heck of a lot cheaper to prevent a war than have a fight.”
Speaking to LBC Radio, General McMaster said, “I think that every country is going to have to develop these kinds of defences and long-range missiles.”
This year the Cabinet Office released a risk assessment; it warned that if there is an attack on the UK it will “likely to result in civilian fatalities as well as members of the emergency services.”
A government spokesman told the Telegraph, “The UK has robust plans in place for a range of potential emergencies that have been developed and tested over many years.”
In March the former Chairman of the Defence Select Committee, Tobias Ellwood has warned “there’s a 1938 feel to the world” meaning we are in a pre-war period as was seen prior to World War Two which started on 1 September 1939.
Ellwood told GB News, “We are attacked daily by Russia, let me make that clear,” which many Brits may be unaware off.
He said this is “all designed to cause economic harm” and “sow political confusion” which is all part of Vladimir Putin’s strategy against Britain.
The much-respected MP suggested the UK is facing conflict, he said, “There’s a 1938 feel to the world right now,” but suspects he won’t as the US is part of NATO, for now.
Ellwood said, “What Russia does is to probe, to see where there are weaknesses, to use proxy influences – the green men, as they’re called – those not in uniform, to cause havoc and deniable attacks on Europe and indeed the UK,” he added Europe is now in “a new era of insecurity.”
He said there is various things that Russia can do to the UK, “If your power goes out, which it could easily do in London, or, let’s say there’s a swarm drone attack up the Thames that would take out our ability to have water for a number of days.”
