Farage’s “Reform Quake” Rocks Britain
The outspoken Nigel Farage made a bold claim about his party’s triumph over both Sir Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch. He told a raucous audience in Consett nothing but one simple message: the Labour Party has already had its lunch.
Backstage Banter
- During Prime Minister’s Questions, Farage joked that Starmer once said he’d bring the Conservative Party to breakfast.
- Farage laughed that Starmer, in his own words, forgot to mention that “the Labour Party was on the menu for lunch.”
Durham’s Big Switch
Reform UK seized Durham County Council from Labour on Friday. The former Labour stronghold was handed over to the Reform banner, prompting Farage to fire an urgent warning at council staff.
- “If you work on climate projects, diversity, equity & inclusion, or the ‘work‑from‑home’ hype, you might want to look for a new job faster than you can say ‘snail mail,’” he quipped.
- He added that Reform will send in “auditors” to hunt for savings, signalling the end of two‑party politics in the UK.
Sky News Shakes
During a Sky News interview, Farage touted the local election victory as “beyond my wildest dreams.” He said it proves people crave genuine change rather than the status quo.
- “Labour and the Tories didn’t do well because nobody feels there’s real economic or social progress,” he claimed.
- “Everyone’s getting poorer despite what the government tells us, so the public wants something different.”
Can Reform Land in Downing Street?
Sky’s Beth Rigby asked whether Reform could end up at Downing Street. Farage answered with a chuckle: “They’re not laughing now, are they?” He wrapped it up with the signature line: “This is Reform‑quake!”
Leadership Stance
He vowed never to change his stance. “I’m not Mr. Bland; I am who I am. Take me or leave me. If you like me, that’s fantastic. If you don’t, I couldn’t care less.”
