Why Russia Could Keep Pumping Troops Like a Super‑Star Marathon
Ukraine’s top general, Oleksandr Syrskyi, dropped some numbers that might put a chill in a Russian tank driver’s spine. According to him, Moscow can roll out five million trained soldiers with a single press of a button—like a giant military vending machine.
“One Gun, 20 Million Soldiers”
In a candid chat with the LB.UA outlet, Syrskyi made it clear the Russian command center has the overall capacity to mobilise up to 20 million troops—not just the five‑million figure in the headlines. He compared Russia’s force increase to a “five‑fold multiplier” since the war began, citing Vladimir Putin’s own deployment of 623,000 troops on Ukrainian soil (as reported by the Kyiv Independent).
He explained that Russians bump the numbers up 8,000‑9,000 troops every month, which means nearly a 120,000‑130,000 increase in a year. The Ukrainian commander also warned that if Ukraine’s soldiers are not bolstered to 30,000 per month, it could tip the balance in favor of Moscow.
Russia’s Spring Conscription—The Big 160K
Putin’s latest drive is the largest conscription rating in 14 years, pulling 160,000 men into spring service. While the US tries to negotiate a ceasefire, the numbers on the battlefield keep on rising.
Syrskyi noted that the Russians were firing “about 40,000 rounds per day.” Following Ukrainian strikes, the figure dipped to around 23,000 on average, only to rise again to 27,000‑28,000 with the launch of a new “spring offensive” in northeastern Ukraine.
“Offensive? Already Started?”
“The president is absolutely right,” Syrskyi said. “This offensive has effectively already begun.” He implied that Moscow’s military machine is already at full speed, and Ukrainian soldiers will need to keep up or face a crazy uptick in war.
