Many people would quickly try to help if someone suddenly fell down in front of them. They might call for help, start CPR, or at least stay with the person so they are not alone. We all know what to do when someone is in physical danger.
However, what happens if someone is having a mental health crisis? Would most people know how to help? Would they jump in or hold back?
That uncertainty is why Justin Goodman started Project 55, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. He created what he calls “the most tactically advanced mental health training ever released to the public”—and he’s giving it away for free. Goodman believes this training should be as common as learning CPR, because knowing how to react during a mental health crisis can really make a difference and even save lives.
