What is meant by the term Salt Therapy?
Salt therapy, also known as halotherapy, is a natural remedy in which air enriched with salt is inhaled. People originally tried salt caves as an ancient remedy for various respiratory and skin ailments. “Halo” means salt in Greek, and it is now being used again, refreshed and modernised, mainly in top-level wellness centres and home saunas.
You breathe in tiny salt particles, which may clear mucus, reduce swelling, and clean your lungs. Salt therapy sessions are done in mostly dry air, unlike steam or regular sauna, and the rooms or saunas usually feature salt tiles, brick, or walls.
One can practice this therapy outside of medicine. A lot of people with no diagnosed lung disease claim that using salt therapy regularly makes them breathe better, gives them better skin, and brings a deep sense of relaxation. Because people are now choosing wellness every day, halotherapy has become a major part of what is offered at saunas and spas.
