Brits Fed Up With a System That Seems to Prioritise Others

Former Tory MP Bob Seely Criticises UK Policy as “Another‑First”

Bob Seely, the ex‑Conservative MP for Southport, says the government’s priorities are skewed in favour of outsiders—illegal immigrants, foreign governments and even climate‑change talkers—leaving ordinary Brits in the dust.

“If you’re an Afghan, the system will work for you. If you’re an illegal immigrant, the system will work for you.”

“If you’re the Mauritian government, the system hands you £35 billion. If you’re a developing‑world country shouting about climate change, you’ll get £10 billion.”

“But if you’re a law‑abiding citizen in a town plagued by grooming gangs, the system just doesn’t seem to listen.”

Afghan Asylum Scheme: 850‑Million‑Pound Rescue & Data Leak

The £850 million programme sprung after a security leak exposed 19,000 Afghans to Taliban attacks, and more than 6,000 Afghan refugees are now heading to the UK. Seely was particularly vocal about a two‑year secret legal injunction he says was intended to stop the Taliban from hunting down those who could be saved.

“If the Taliban figured out we’d be safeguarding certain people, they’d just run to kill them before we could help,” he said.

Crime in Afghan Communities: A Distressing Reality

  • Afghans have a sexual‑assault rate 23.7 times higher than the national average.
  • Seely questions whether children should grow up in towns where such crimes are alight.
The Bottom Line

Seely warns that the government appears to be covering itself while prioritising international programmes over the safety and wellbeing of everyday British citizens.
