Clarkson Storms London to Rally With Angry Farmers in Tax Uprising

The former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has arrived in London and will join thousands of furious farmers who are protesting over the Chancellor’s so called “tactor tax.”

Clarkson has been a vocal critic of Labour and Rachel Reeves and her inheritance tax changes which will see around 40,000 famers demonstrating in London on Tuesday.

Labour’s inheritance tax will take affect from 2026 and farmers who own land worth more than £1 million will not be allowed to leave their farms to their children unless they pay an extortionate amount of tax which will force many to sell up.
The inheritance tax would have to be paid in instalments over a 10-year period under Labour’s new measures.
Clarkson said that “we have a new government. It’s turning out to be hopless.”

Boris Johnson Joins the Farmers’ Side on the New Inheritance Tax Loophole

Why the Man Who Threw a Parliament Party is Suddenly a Farmer’s Champion

Short Take: Boris Johnson, the former PM, has found himself standing in the paddocks with a bunch of farmers who’re furious at Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s “dumb” move on inheritance tax. He’s open‑minded enough to say, “I wouldn’t have liked it very much, but I would have understood,” if the new rule was aimed at the wealthy like himself.

Meanwhile, Clarkson (no, not the race car driver— Clarkson Farm CEO) has blasted the decision, claiming all the farmers are “miserable”. He’s worried their land’s future is being carved up into new towns for immigrants and “net zero” wind farms. He even hinted that the best way to stop it is to “ethnically cleanse” the countryside of its farm community—humor aside, he’s clearly worried the budget will make farming almost impossible.

Official Statements from the Front Lines

  • Clarkson Farm Owner: “Farmers, you’ve been betrayed today. That’s tough, but we’ve got a plan. Let’s hold tight for five years and this storm will stop. Labour needs to lose the seat.”
  • Kirstie Allsopp (Location, Location, Location): “Rachel Reeves basically shattered the farms. She’s ruined generational inheritance and left our estates in shambles— it’s a shocking move that shows the government doesn’t get what matters to rural voters.”

What This Means for the Rural Heartland

The article warns that a new tax could strip wealthy farmers of their legacy, backfiring on everyone that depends on their fertile fields.

Follow-up: The 19th of LE (London)?

Clarkson plans to meet with the local “budget” council on the 19th—probably to “make it clear” that the only way forward is a balanced approach between growth and farm security.
