Origins of a 1904 Landmark
The Goods Shed at the Broadway Club Campsite was erected in 1904, commissioned by the Great Western Railway (GWR). According to the Caravan and Motorhome Club, this structure originally served railway logistics.
A New Era for a Classic Building
In the present day, the Goods Shed has transformed into a home for two remarkable artifacts:
- The Wanderer – the world’s first purpose‑built leisure touring caravan.
- Prince Philip’s Caravan – once owned by the Club’s former Patron, HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.
