London Officially Ranks #1 as the Ultimate Hub for European Operations

London Leads the Pack in Tech and Finance Post‑Brexit

A recent poll carried out by London & Partners shows that, once the UK has pulled out of the EU, London still stands out as the go‑to spot for tech and financial services across Europe.

Key Findings

  • 57 % of over 200 senior U.S. tech leaders say London is the top European tech hub, beating Berlin, Paris, and Dublin.
  • More than half also pick London as the leading financial services centre, ahead of Frankfurt, Zurich, and Amsterdam.
  • When it comes to setting up a European operation, London tops the list because of its easy access to funding, a deep pool of talent, and a time‑zone sweet spot that works well for U.S. teams.

These vibes came hot just after the Brexit vote, so it’s a big win for the city’s business crown.

Mayor Sadiq Khan Takes the Stage in New York

The mayor will kick off a high‑profile event at WeWork’s HQ in New York City, calling on the U.S. tech scene to keep the partnership alive.

“London has always been a powerhouse for finance. Add our growing tech chops to that, and we’re offering unmatched chances for companies to plant themselves in Europe. Even after the UK exits the EU, London stays vibrant, welcoming talent from everywhere and still a hot destination for American business,” says Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Joining him is Rich Riley, CEO of London‑based Shazam, who highlighted how the innovation vibes between New York and London keep sparking new ideas.

“Both New York and London are hubs of entrepreneurial spirit. With Shazam based here, we’ve always thrived on this dynamic link between the two cities. I’m thrilled to welcome Mayor Khan to New York and rally for a message that London is open for business,” says Riley.
