Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya who was in Istanbul last Friday for negotiations with their Russian counterparts said that they were “threatened.”
Kyslytsya said they were warned by the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky that “Russia is prepared to fight forever.”
Kyslytsya wrote on X, “There was a chilling moment when the Russians are reported to have threatened their interlocutors like gangsters.”
He said that Medinsky told the Ukrainian delegation, “Maybe some of those sitting here at this table will lose more of their loved ones. […] Russia is prepared to fight forever.”

It was revealed that Medinsky warned Russia is prepared to keep the war going for as long as needed and said Moscow will capture Sumy and Kharkiv.
He asked the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul, “We fought Sweden for 21 years. How long are you ready to fight?”
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has warned the Kremlin is prepared to continue the conflict and there will be no compromise.
ISW analysts said that the Kremlin is creating an environment that they are trying to engage in negotiations and they are making impossible and unacceptable demands, knowing full well they will not be agreed on.
The analysts said, “ISW continues to assess that Putin will continue to refuse to offer compromises until Ukraine and the West are able to alter his theory of victory, which posits that Russia will win a war of attrition through indefinite creeping advances that prevent Ukraine from conducting successful, operationally significant counteroffensive operations.”
