Russia launches a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine in an overnight assault

Russian forces launched more than 150 drones on Ukraine in a large-scale attack overnight and Ukrainian air defences shot down 70 drones across 14 regions including the capital city of Kyiv.

According to officials in Kyiv 74 drones lost course and crash landed causing no damage and by 9am on Sunday two drones were still airborne and the locations of five stray drone remains unclear.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration said a multi-story building which is under construction in Obukhiv, Kyiv was hit by drone debris and no casualties were reported.
Two drones were intercepted in the Dnipopetrovsk region and air defences shot down four drones in the Cherksay region and 11 was shot down in the Sumy region.
In Crimea and Russia eight Ukrainian drones were launched, the Russian Defence Ministry said, and they reported they shot down 35 drones across several regions, the Kyiv Post reports.

In Rostov-on-Don around 76 apartments were damaged on Sunday amid a Ukrainian drone attack, the Mayor Alexander Scriabin claimed.
He added, “Measurements for window replacements are taking place in eight buildings, work will begin in the remaining six buildings tomorrow.”
On Saturday Vladimir Putin has admitted the situation in the Kursk region is “very difficult” as North Korean and Russian troops are being wiped out in their hundreds.
North Korean troops were caught up in a lethal drone strike whilst travelling in an armoured personnel carrier (APC).
Putin has around 60,000 troops fighting in Russia’s Kursk region and some 11,000 are North Korean soldiers.
Ukrainian troops launched a new offensive in the Kursk region and Russian and North Korean soldiers are facing fury from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
North Korean troops are suffering enormous casualties since they were sent to the frontlines in the Kursk region.
