Russian MP Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of the State Duma (Parliament) has warned that any “plot to assassinate” Vladimir Putin will be a “path to nuclear war.”
Any assassination attempt on Putin will constitute a crime and a serious threat to global security.
Volodin wrote on Telegram, “The plot to assassinate Putin, mere discussions of it is a crime, a serious threat to global security, a direct path to nuclear war. All international institutions should view it as a basis for an investigation.”

Another Russian MP, Sergey Mironov warned that Russia has “every right” to launch a nuclear attack in the event of an assassination attempt on Putin.
Mironov told LondonLovesBusiness.com, “I am not surprised by such reports, and I believe that they should be thoroughly investigated by Russian law enforcement agencies and independent media.
“Given that Washington openly called the Russian president a ‘killer’ and a ‘criminal,’ it is quite possible that plans to eliminate the Russian leader were also discussed there.”
He recalled that political terror and sabotage became quite common during the Biden administration.
As examples, he cited the assassination attempts on Donald Trump, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, the foiled assassination attempt on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, as well as the destruction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
Mironov warned, “Russia has all the forces and means to protect its president. In the case of an attempt to eliminate him, there are opportunities for inevitable retribution.
“The assumption that Vladimir Putin’s departure will result in a radical change in Russia’s policy is fatally flawed.”
