In good news for the camping and caravanning industry, it is seeing the first signs of the stabilisation in motorhome registrations in Spain.
Motorhome Sales Surge in Spain
Data from the Spanish Association of the Caravanning Industry and Trade (ASEICAR) reveal that 651 new motorhomes and campers were sold in March 2023. This marks a 7.1 percent rise in motorhome registrations compared to March 2022, when 608 units were registered.
Caravan Registrations Decline
- Caravan registrations dropped from 243 in March 2022 to 180 in March 2023.
- This represents a 26 percent decline.
While motorhome sales continue to climb, caravan registrations are falling sharply in Spain.

Motorhome and Camper Sales

- Caravan sales: 649 (compared to 632 in February 2022) — an increase of 2.7%.
ASEICAR’s Forecast
ASEICAR confirmed that the sector is likely to witness short‑term rebound effects, with continuous monthly fluctuations in registrations.
According to the association, this trend is expected to persist until the end of the year, at which point a more stable and definitive recovery of the sector should occur.
