White House to Offer State‑Of‑The‑Art Ballroom
Trump Aims to Replace East Room with Elegant New Space
At Thursday’s briefing, President Donald Trump declared that the White House would receive a state‑of‑the‑art ballroom to honor the mansion’s neoclassical heritage. He said the project would serve as a “great legacy” and be “special.”
Capacity and Design – The new ballroom is slated to seat 650 guests, a figure that is more than three times the seating area of the East Room, which currently hosts the White House’s largest events. Trump emphasized that the design would preserve the “theme and architectural heritage” of the executive mansion.
Trump’s Past Ballroom Claims – Last weekend, Trump told the European Commission’s president that he was the only president who could build a ballroom. He referenced the crystal‑draped ballrooms at his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, claiming he could drop a similar room down in the White House and have it “beautiful.”

Design Leadership
- McCrery Architects, known for “classical architectural design,” has been selected to lead the project.
- Jim McCrery, CEO, praised the opportunity to blend classical elegance with modern functionality.
Commitment to Classic Style
