The licence you need to drive a motorhome depends on two key factors: your age and the vehicle’s maximum authorised mass (MAM). The MAM is the motorhome’s own weight plus the maximum load it can carry safely.

- C1 Licence – required for motorhomes with a MAM between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes.
- C Licence – required for motorhomes with a MAM exceeding 7.5 tonnes.

Importing a Motorhome into the UK
To bring a motorhome into the UK permanently, you must register it first. UK regulations set strict limits on motorhome size:
