UK prepared to send fighter jets to patrol Ukrainian skies

The UK has said they are prepared to send fighter jets to patrol over Ukraine if a peacekeeping deal is made.

This comes as Russia said they will not allow any NATO troops to patrol inside Ukraine “under any flag,” so Britain has rolled over and are now looking at jets.

A Whitehall source said that “air policing” will only work if there is a large deployment including air defence systems to protect warplanes.
A senior army office has said the British troops are “ready” to head to Ukraine as peacekeepers and he is confident we are ready “if and when required.”
